From its launch on Aug. 27, 2012, through its final day of publishing on Jan. 26, 2018, I served as a writer, editor and producer for Sports on Earth, a property of MLB Advanced Media. I joined SoE, originally a joint venture of MLBAM and USA Today Sports, in June 2012 as a producer/reporter. I ended up writing more than 1,500 stories in SoE's five-plus years as the lead national college football and basketball writer, in addition to editing countless stories from a staff of accomplished reporters. Over the site's final three months, I acted as managing editor. While working for Sports on Earth, I made numerous national and local radio appearances, including "The Paul Finebaum Show," ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, NBC Sports and SiriusXM, and filmed regular video interviews for 120 Sports and Stadium.
Upon graduating with distinction from Penn State, I covered the Cincinnati Reds as an associate reporter for MLB.com in the summer of 2010, writing on both the Reds and visiting teams. In August 2010, I moved to a full-time job analyzing the NFL for pioneering fantasy football website FantasyGuru.com. From 2011-12, I also served as research assistant to Joe Posnanski on his New York Times best-selling book Paterno, working closely with the author as a researcher, reporter, editor and fact-checker.
I decided to pursue a career as a writer at the age of 7 and have been pursuing that goal ever since then.
Obsessed with "SportsCenter," "College GameDay" and preseason college football and basketball magazines, I began creating my own sports magazines at age 12, with a college football preview reaching as many as 92 pages a few years later. I wrote for independent NFL draft websites and made my first local sports radio appearance at age 16, resulting in the newspaper profile to the left. One year later, before the 2005 NFL draft, I made my first television appearance as a guest on "Daily News Live" on Philadelphia's Comcast SportsNet.
I attended Penn State University from 2006-10, majoring in journalism and participating in the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. After initially being active in student radio, I joined The Daily Collegian as a sophomore and covered basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse and swimming as a reporter before acting as editor of football coverage and the opinion page.
